Applying HP FlexNetwork Fundamentals exam consists of fifty eight main questions that are to be completed in one hundred and fifteen minutes in which the candidates have to attain sixty five questions. The preparation of the exam can be done by HP supporting courses that are 00870106 – HP FlexNetwork Fundamentals, Rev. 14.21 or later (ILT), 00731204 – Getting Started with HP Switching and Routing, Rev 13.31 or later (WBT) and 00731293 – Getting Started with HP Wireless Networks, Rev 13.31 or later (WBT). These supporting courses are helpful but not at all compulsory. However it is good to conduct.
HP0-Y49: Applying HP FlexNetwork Fundamentals exam offer the following learning objectives to the exam takers which are below:
Twenty nine percent is given
by objectives in which the candidates have to describe and explain the topics
which are the most common Layer 2
protocols, the most common Ethernet concepts, Layer 3 routing concepts and apply Layer 3 protocols, the purpose and interaction of
common TCP/UDP-based upper layer applications, various security components and common access methods, the concepts, benefits, and types of
redundancy and apply redundancy types, link aggregation, and
explain VLANs, network management and wireless technologies.
Sixteen percent is covered by
the HP0-Y49: Applying HP
FlexNetwork Fundamentals objectives in which the candidates have to
identify and compare the objectives that are the components of a converged infrastructure using the HP
FlexNetwork Architecture framework, datacenter,
campus LAN, and branch environments, products and features in the HP Networking product line, HP Networking solutions and features,
HP Networking products should be positioned given various customer environments
and infrastructure needs.
Thirty five percent is covered
by the topics in which the candidates have to solve the objectives which
include install, configure, startup, and upgrade per planned design that the
candidate has to study where they will have to perform and configure the
Solution implementation, installation
and configuration of devices, the
management software and manage files on HP switches, the installed solution via debug
technology and commands.
Ten percent is covered by
objectives HP0-Y49: Applying HP
FlexNetwork Fundamentals that
include Solution enhancement where the candidates will have to performance-tune
and optimize the objectives that are Layer
2 and Layer 3 infrastructures via broadcast domain reduction and VLANs,
and Layer 3 via OSPF, network assets
using HP tools, L3 routing protocol convergence and scalability.
Ten percent is covered by the
topic called Solution management that controls administrative and operational
tasks in which the individuals learn about network management using HP best
practices and administrative tasks.
